Author Visits and Creative Workshops
In addition to writing, publishing and promoting my books, I offer author visits. I like nothing more than meeting with people who share my love for writing and reading – especially my target audience, and those who have read and enjoyed reading my books.
During 2018 & 2019, I am offering talks, creative writing. publishing workshops and author events. I’m available for hire for schools, libraries, bookshops and writing circles. If you are interested, please contact as soon as possible as my time is limited!
Whatever the event, whoever the audience, talks and workshops can be tailored to suit the need or requirement.
As well as being a writer and author, I am also a governor at a local Primary Academy, where I see first-hand the challenges educators have in teaching reading and writing. Telling children to do something is not always enough. They must want to do it, especially in this day and age where interests lie in other things, such as electronic devices, satellite TV and computer games.
It is statistically proven that meeting an author in real life, not only helps a child or a young person relate to how skills in reading and writing are beneficial to them, it can fundamentally improve their relationship and interest in books, fuelling a love affair with reading that will last a lifetime.
I strongly believe that the success of our children as they grow into adulthood evolves around their knowledge, understanding and use of the English language. My aim – as a governor and as an author – is to help children recognise this, because their futures depend upon it.
What are my fees?
They are variable, depending on where I a need to travel, who the audience is and what is required. I will tailor a quote to suit what is needed (which will include reasonable costs and expenses where travelling is required).
I offer special rates to schools and organisations based in the Suffolk region. In some instances, I will visit for free if the school is happy to promote and sell copies of my books. If I can secure a reasonable number of orders before hand, it will help contribute towards the time taken out of my writing schedule. For more details, contact me, either by email, or completing this contact form.
In all instances (unless agreed beforehand), a deposit of £50 is required when booking to secure my services. I will invoice on the day of the event for the balance of the fee and expect to be paid within 30 days.
I know book clubs are run for fun. Therefore, if you are a book club in the Ipswich area and you all bought and read my book, I’ll happily visit for free.
